HUMAN, SEVEN QUESTIONS, LEEUM, SAMSUNG MUSEUM OF ART, SEOUL, KOREA, 2021 - 2022
8 October 2021 - 2 January 2022
A group exhibition at the Samsung Museum of Art, HUMAN, SEVEN QUESTIONS considers the meaning of 'Being Human' in the rapidly changing global circumstances of the 21st century and the global pandemic.
The exhibition includes a Tanker called EXPRESS which reveals Antony Gormley's interest in interpreting the body as a place of potential rather than as an object defined by appearance. Conflating the body's ability to contain mind with architecture's ability to enclose the body, the work reconciles the limitless with the bounded. By acknowledging the processes that govern the spatial expansion of the universe, it evokes the expansive potential of mind.
