MAN ROCK (1982), an early work by Antony Gormley, was exhibited in ON NATURE at Sean Kelly Gallery, New York: a group exhibition which brought together works with conceptually-based approaches to our perception of nature.

Whilst disparate in their presentation, practice and media, the artists that were assembled in ON NATURE share an abiding interest in employing nature to articulate narratives and metaphors. Throughout the exhibition, the presence of human beings within nature was present in direct or veiled references.
