FIELD FOR THE BRITISH ISLES, LONGSIDE GALLERY, YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND, 2005

09 July - 06 November 2005

Framed by the Yorkshire landscape, this exhibition marked the first time that FIELD FOR THE BRITISH ISLES (1993) was presented in a rural context. Gormley's installation of 40,000 miniature terracotta figures, handmade by people living in St Helen's, Merseyside, was acquired for the Arts Council Collection in 1995. Gormley also presented a series of twelve wooblock 'Bearing Light' prints.
